【摘要】:Materialsforelectricalconnectorcontactsmustsatisfyanumberofrequirementsintheareasofelectrical,mechanical,andeconomiccharacteristics.Thestabilityofelectricalpropertiesisoneofthemostimportantofthesecharacteristics.Wearofcontactsurfacesmayadverselyaffecttheseelectricalproperties,especiallyindesignswherethecontactsurfacesarerelativelythincoatings.Thistestmethodprovidesameanstocomparevariousmaterialsystemsonabasisrelevanttotheirapplicationinelectricalconnectorcontacts.Repeatedinsertionandwithdrawalofaconnectormaycausewearorothermechanicaldamagetotheelectricalcontactsurfaces,renderingthosesurfacesmoresusceptibletoenvironmentaldegradation.Thistestmethodisintendedtodetectdegradationoftheelectricalpropertiesoftheconnectorbysuchprocesses.Thistestmethoddescribesproceduresforconductingwearanddurabilitytestingofelectricalconnectors;theproceduresproducequantitativeresults.Theseresultsmaybeusedtocomparetheperformanceofdifferentconnectordesignssothatmeaningfuldesignchoicescanbemade.Suchresultsmayalsobeusedtocomparetheperformanceofaconnectortoapreviouslyestablishedstandardtoevaluatethequalityofthesamplesundertest.Thetestresultsobtainedfromthistestmethodarelimitedintheirapplicabilitytoconnectorcombinationsthatareequivalentindesignandmanufacturetothoseactuallytested.Theuseriscautionedthattheconditionsinthistestshouldbecomparedtotheconditionsthattheconnectorwillexperienceintheintendedapplicationinordertodeterminetherelevanceofthistestmethodtotheparticularneedsoftheuser.Forexample,theenvironmentalstressinthistestmethodislessseverethancertainindustrialandmarineenvironmentsandthereforetestresultsarenotdirectlyapplicabletopredicttheperformanceofproductintendedforuseinsuchareas.Itisrecommendedthatthistestmethodbeusedinoneoftwoways.First,itmaybeusedtoevaluateandreporttheperformanceofaparticularconnectorsystem.Insuchacase,itisappropriatetoreporttheresultsinatableintheformatshowninFig.1andtostatex201C;Theresultsshowninthetablewereobtainedfor(insertconnectordesignationordescription)whentestedinaccordancewithASTMStandardB794,Method__,Procedure__.x201D;Second,itmaybeusedtoimposerequirementsforacceptanceofproduct.Inthiscase,limitsforthevaluesshowninFig.1mustbeestablishedpriortoproductacceptancetesting.Suchlimitsmaybeestablishedbyvariousmethodssuchasbyevaluationofproductwhichisknowntobeacceptableorbyapplicationofappropriateexperience.Theselimitsmustbedocumentedinamannerthattheentityperformingtheproducttestcanrefertothelimitstodetermineifthetestproductconformstosuchlimits.Apurchasermaywishtosupplyatableoflimitsandincludeonthepurchaseorderastatementsimilarto:x201C;Theproduct,whentestedinaccordancewithASTMStandardB794,Method__,Procedure__,shallmeetthelimitsinthesuppliedtable.x201D;ThistablesuppliedbythepurchasermaysetlimitsonallofthevaluesinFig.1,oronlyonasubsetofthosevaluesthatthepurchaserdeemsadequatetoensuretheperformanceoftheproduct.FIG.1SampleFormatforReportingResults1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheeffectsofrepeatedinsertionandwithdrawalofseparableelectr......

【摘要】:Uraniumhexafluorideisnormallyproducedandhandledinlarge(typically1-to14-ton)quantitiesandmust,thereforebecharacterizedbyreferencetorepresentativesamples.ThesamplesareusedtodeterminecompliancewiththeapplicablecommercialSpecificationsC996andC787bymeansoftheappropriatetestmethod(forexample,TestMethodC761andreferencestherein).Thequantitiesinvolved,physicalproperties,chemicalreactivity,andhazardousnatureofUF6aresuchthatforrepresentativesampling,speciallydesignatedequipmentmustbeusedandoperatedinaccordancewiththemostcarefullycontrolledandstringentprocedures.Thispracticeindicatesappropriateprinciples,equipmentandprocedurescurrentlyinuseforsubsamplingofliquidUF6.ItisusedbyUF6converters,enrichersandfuelfabricatorstoreviewtheeffectivenessofexistingproceduresortodesignequipmentandproceduresforfutureuse.OthersubsamplingproceduressuchasUF6vaporsamplingarenotdirectlyrepresentativeofthechemicalqualityofliquidUF6.Itisemphasizedthatthistestguideisnotmeanttoaddressconventionalornuclearcriticalitysafetyissues.1.1Thispracticeisapplicabletosubsamplinguraniumhexafluoride(UF6),usingheatliquefactiontechniques,frombulkcontainers,obtainedinconformancewithC1052,intosmallersamplecontainers,whicharerequiredforlaboratoryanalyses.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.3ItisassumedthattheliquidUF6beingsampledcomprisesasinglequalityandquantityofmaterial.Thispracticedoesnotaddressanyspecialadditionalarrangementthatmightberequiredfortakingproportionalorcompositesamples.1.4Thenumberofsamplestobetaken,theirnominalsampleweight,andtheirdispositionshallbeagreeduponbetweentheparties.1.5Thescopeofthispracticedoesnotincludeprovisionsforpreventingcriticalityincidents.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
